![]() In contrast, having to use ladders/rams/towers adds a fun dimension to the battle. ![]() When using ballistas (if I'm playing smart, I'll bring no less than 4 to a siege), I can take down all the towers on the side facing me, blast a few holes in the walls, and probably take out a VERY sizable chunk of their army (due to death from wall breaking). I actually find myself siegeing for a few turns so that I can get towers/rams. All of a sudden, walled city battles are a lot more interesting and difficult. I find that ballistas are so over-the-top good (ESPECIALLY for their upkeep) that I have begun to play campaigns where I disallow myself from using them (or any other siege weapon).
